Lori Scarlatos
Biography: Lori Scarlatos has a BFA in Painting from Pratt Institute, and a PhD in Computer Science from Stony Brook University. She currently teaches classes on Design (of games, intetactions, and educational technology) and Color (in technology and art) at Stony Brook University. Her artwork has been selected for juried shows around Long Island, at Las Laguna Gallery in California, and by the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club (CLWAC) in New York City.
Artist Statement: Every picture tells a story … in my world. Some of my work is inspired by stories told by others. Other works depict stories that I have been a part of in some way, either an event that I participated in or a moment in a beautiful setting. But most of my work tells stories about my subjects, which include both people and animals. You can often see me drawing in a sketchbook that I carry everywhere for capturing those stories.
